Anniversary report of Australia’s first labour hire licensing scheme

It has been a little over one year since Queensland’s pioneering labour hire licensing laws set minimum standards for labour hire providers, who must now show they are complying with their legal obligations. Along with assessing and granting over 3,000 licences in its first year, the Labour Hire Licensing Compliance Unit (LHLCU) has engaged closely with industry, stakeholders and communities throughout Queensland, influenced compliance with relevant laws, conducted over 350 audits and investigations of complaints regarding labour hire arrangements and worked closely with other regulators to improve the performance of the labour hire industry.
